I was watching the movie Idiocracy the other day, and I realized something. Could Dysgenics actually be happening? I mean, with no natural predators to thin the herd, and with life getting easier and easier due to technology.... Is it possible that evolution simply rewards those who procreate the most? I saw that there was a study done in the 50's that showed that less intelligent women have more children "on average" then more intelligent women. Could this lead to a evolutionary downward spiral where humanity actually becomes stupider instead of smarter? Surely the universe isn't that lame.

  1. To me, dysgenics can only occur within small, isolated communities.

The world is too diverse and interconnected for dysgenics to overwhelm the forces of random mutations and natural selection in our current world culture.
