Why does everyone want to work for someone else?  All the answers on here is don't pay to work, you have to pay to start a business and that is the only way you will ever be financially independent.  It will never happen working for someone else.  I haven't worked for someone else for over 4 years and never will again.

Although most of the work at home data entry job offers who ask for initial sign up fee are scam, there are good freelancing sites like ScriptLance, GetAFreelancer which takes fee only when you get a job. There is no sign up fee or monthly fee.

Yes there are. Unfortunately there are a lot of scams so you are going to have to do your research and find what is right for you. Now as far as stuffing envelopes and assembling products.. those are scams. But there are other things. It depends on what you are looking for. I have to laugh at some of the responses here.  I work from home and know plenty of people who do that make a sufficient amount of income. So despite what your told of things being scams are false accusations.  I wouldn't be at home working for several years with my husband if they were a scam outfit. LOL  Oh well, to each their own.

There are legitimate ways to work from home without start up costs.  However, with home jobs (aka telecommuting jobs) the pay is very minimal-minimum waged earnings.  the ways to work at home with start up costs is actually the better way to go (based on personal experiences) This is home based businesses where the income opportunity is just the same as a traditional business without all the over head expenses.  If it's a job and they ask for money, then you would be setting yourself up for the possibility of being scammed.  If it's a business opportunity then your not.  But with business, you have to build it or you don't make money.  That is the only downfall is if your lazy and don't build up your business to the income level you desire then your only scamming yourself of the initial investment.  You can't be lazy in business.

Now data entry jobs, what is your typing speed and accuracy? Most places would like you to be able to type at least 40 WPM with a 95% accuracy.  Some places want you to be able to type as much as 60 - 80 WPM.  But again, these are just jobs and nothing more to it.  You don't get anywhere in life, or really make anything of yourself, as you would in a home based business (which is a real legit way to work from home, however there are start up costs as with any business)

Why not contact a web designer and offer your services of data entry? Often when a web site e-commerce store is being created, they need someone to enter all the products and images etc. Also, some designers pay people to maintain blogs about the sites which helps with search engine ratings.
