Is there such a thing as a 'portable' ice-rink?

just wondering as my daughter has been asked to take part in a sports day thing that involves ice skating AT THE SCHOOL...so do they have portable ice rinks or what?

  1. There are companies which make synthetic ice panels which can be laid, and presumably removed from, anywhere and used as a full ice sheet would be.

  4. Yeah - its like waxed plastic boards that they put down. Ive done both and the false stuff was much harder to skate on that the real stuff.

  7. yes they do have ice rinks that can be moved around but the ice is made when the rink is set up.

  8. yes, you can get them, they are small enough to fit on the back of a truck. and are assembled in a few hours

  9. Yes. They have had one in a park in Bath for the last couple of Christmases.

  10. yeah. they make small ones. but very small and it has to be cold enough where you live for the water to actually freeze! (since those rinks dont use artificial ice.)
