  1. haha, so funny we were just thinking that because it's my brother's wedding and were getting ready for the bridal shower. But I don't believe so, but on that day we are getting hes best man, and other of his friends to just take him out somewhere and enjoy himself, while we are at the Bridal shower.

  2. Actually in our family we throw what we call "Handyman Showers". Sounds kind of cheesy but it is a fun way to get the man involved and excited about the up coming wedding. We usually give things you can use around the house or things the man enjoys like grilling utensils or Harley Davidson shirts. Its a lot of fun.

  3. No - it's a bachelor's party................way different.

Wine, women and song are the order of a bachelor's party.

    Who needs a groom shower?

  4. Nope. There are coed showers where  the couple might register for tools and electronics as well as pots and pans but if you were invited to a strictly groom shower it is nothing but a gift grab. It is not really acceptable in the wedding tradition spectrum.

  5. never heard of it but you could start a new trend my husband always said he should of gotten one

  6. No...I've never heard of it  The closest thing is a couples shower, which is similar to a bridal shower but allows both men and women to be guests and the groom and bride are both present.  There really is no need for a groom shower as the majority of gifts given at the bridal shower benefit the couple as a whole.

  7. I used to know a man who had a tool shower while his fiance was having her lingerie shower.

  8. If you are both groom's yes.

If not and you're future husband still wants a little party to open house presents and lingerie then reconsider the whole thing.

There is a bridal shower where the woman gets the presents. Then there is a bachelor and bachelorette party. A shower is nothing like either of them, a shower you can invite your grandma's church friends to.

  9. d**n STRAIGHT there is. It's called a bachelor party. And if you do it right, the wedding will be called off and allot of money and future heartache will be eliminated.

  10. I have heard of something called a honeydo shower where people buy gifts for when you say "honey do this or honey do that."  like tools and stuff.  personally I think its just another excuse to begg for gifts.  people are alreay giving enough for the wedding and likely the bridal shower and now people want to throw in something else.

  11. No... and its not a bachelor party because girls have bachelorette parties too!

Bridal shower is meant to supply the bride with houshold items for the both of you, traditionally.

But if you want a Groom shower its certainly possible, I just don't know what a whole bunch of guys would do with tea party appetizers and various brunch type foods. I'm assuming it'd have to be less elegant than a brindal shower.

  12. For the Bride its the Bridal shower to shower her with blessings

    For the Groom

We call it a Stag Party to show the groom whats in for him :-)

  13. Yes, a lot of offices are doing it now..... or did you mean the groom needs a bath?

  14. No I don't think they call it that, it's usualy some kind of male party where they celebrate their last days of being a free man or something. I know my future husband is having one. but bachelor parties don't have presants and they are super-informal and very rowdy and have women I wonder what they do there.... but the guys like so I guesse it's fun for them!

  15. Its called a Stag....but from the tone of your question it sounds like you might be having your period when they try and throw you one.

  16. Some people throw a couple/jack and jill shower where people are supposed to bring the groom a tool (or something masculine) and the bride something for the home.  But men don't typically have showers of their own.

  17. Sure but I don't think that's what it's called.  Bridal showers are about girls getting together and spoiling the bride with perfume and lingerie and girly stuff so a "groom shower" would the man version of this.

  18. These days, there can be.

But mostly, I think it's a joint bride/groom shower. For example, I don't want a bridal shower for fear of silly streamer hats, stupid games and lingerie, so my mom and sister are throwing my fiance and I a joint shower. It's basically a casual, laid back party two months before the wedding wherein the entire family can talk about last-minute plans, enjoy good food and just relax with each other's company. We're both really looking forward to it!

  19. No, however, these days there are Jack and Jill Wedding showers where both men and women are invited.  I've never been to one, but my sister and BIL in CA were treated to one via her work buddies.

  20. It's called a bachelor party!

  21. I had never heard of one until my nephew got married. His best man threw a Grooms shower and the theme was tools. What a great idea! Guys love tools. Of course there were a few Vibrators and such...power tools for the bedroom, LOL but I thought it was a great idea and he love it and it was great fun.

  22. YES THERE IS!!! GOOGLE IT!

Sure you can do a groom's shower.  You won't be the first to do it!  If you do a groom's shower you can make it a BBQ type thing.

Gifts can be things more along the lines of bbq supplies, horse shoe set or other manly games, tools (lowe's gift card), waterhoses, leaf blower, car washing supplies, bbq sauces and spices, beer bucket, etc.

You could also have a couples shower....they are a lot of fuN!!

  23. My friend is getting married and while she is having her bridal shower, her fiance is having a "shower" of sorts with all of her friends' significant others (so the guys don't feel left out). I think they are showering him with manly things like tools, electronics, etc.

  24. sure there is...AKA a bachelor party. Tell the guys to give stuff you can use...

  25. I haven't heard of a Groom shower. I know some people have couple's shower.  A groom shower would be unique though. His friends could get him tools and things that he will need to take care of the couple's new home.

  26. Sure there are. I know couples who have done them. When the girl is having her bridal shower the guys all get together and go golfing or somthing boyish. I think these days you can get away with pretty much anything....Just don't expect gifts, however it is a great way to get all the guys toghether. Good luck!!

  27. no u have a bridal shower together with ur fiance and u have bachlor and bachlorette parties before the wedding. There is no such thing as a groom party.

  28. I think it would be splendid if friends of the groom had a little bash that featured gift to help him get his new household running as well as silly games, fun food, and advice on how to be a good husband. It is certainly an improvement on the old idea of friends of the groom taking him to a strip club and hoping to either sabotage the marriage or deliver him to the wedding with the grandmother of all hangovers.

  29. Bachelor parties aren't the same thing. You don't get presents.

  30. There are Jack and Jill showers where both men and women are invited.  And I have seen a groom receive tools as gifts at one of these showers.

There are no games played at these showers . . . and the food tends to be heartier, since men are present.

  31. In actual history, No.  However many people have thrown gift giving events for the grooms.  I've heard them called "A Grooming" or just an "Expanded Bachelor Party"  Call it what yo u want, and plan on gifts like tools, lawn care equipment and such.
