Is there such a thing as a church?

that tries to teach the morals of the Bible instead of the ridiculous, unbelievable "stories" of the Bible. I can not go to church b/c almost every single story I hear is BS in my mind.

the number one definition in any dictionary for cult is a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.

its the same for Websters, OED. Wikipedia, Dictionary.com, and McMillian's Children's Dictionary.

Of course that means any religion--bible based or not-- is (gasp) a cult.

it is your responsibility to sift the wheat from the chaff, and take away from a sermon what is being taught. I have had similar experiences, and yet, when I reflect on the sermon later, I can pluck wisdom from it. Now having said that, I am referring to a teacher/preacher who is a true believer and literate in the Holy Bible....not some idiot crazy person.  There is no perfect church, pastor, teacher or preacher....never will be.  Jesus was the only perfect Human.  If you want to learn from the Bible, read and study it carefully with a sincere heart, and God will do the rest.  Going to church is not always fun or enjoyable, but it does teach us things about ourselves and others.  We cannot escape judgmental people.

When was younger I went to a kids church outside the actual church and we talked about the morals of the stories and did crafts about it and stuff.

Try Aesop's fables. Same morals to the stories but without all the Cr@p in between. And a much more enjoyable read.

To the best of my knowledge "the church of we're not going to treat you like a simple minded six year old, but instead we'll relate to you on the level of a functioning adult" has been formed, yet.

Those stories have morals. You or the church is completely missing the point if they think believing in talking snakes makes them better people.

You have already set up a mental block, any church therefore will not work, Just because you can't see or prove something does not mean it does not exist!

I have faith... it is non tangable and yet You see the evidence through how I live my life!

The bible is about faith... belief in things yet unseen, you've already discounted them so what to do?
