Is there such a thing as a ladies putter?

If so, is it illegal for a male player to use one. Does it matter? Since the clubs are conforming to USGA regulations anyway, why should it matter if you're man or a woman?

yeah there are ladies putters and no it is not illegal becuase all of the clubs that a normal person can buy are USGA approved why it matters is that the clubs ladies that aren't pros use are lighter and the shafts arent as stiff

Usually just a different colored grip.  If you don't mind a lavender grip on your putter, go for it.

There are certainly putters made to be marketed to women players, but there is nothing in the rules that says you can't use one.  Tell your buddies to shut up and press the bet.

yes, there is such thing as a lady putter. Also its legal for a male to use one if he choice too. I couldn't find a putter that I like and pick a lady putter without knowing it. The putter felt good and I bought it, Lady luck is in my bag.

Yes you can use it, usually all the difference is in less weight and smaller size.  Sometimes it's just the color the manufactuer put on the putter.

YES there are "ladies putters"... they're usually a little smaller and lighter than men's putters. NO it is not illegal for you (a man) to be playing with one. If the club is USGA approved, you can play it. Sounds like your buddies are tired of giving you their money!
