Is there such a thing as a program that will pay someone to travel to study languages abroad?

As I am taking college courses, one of the things I have a huge interest in is learning foreign languages - where I am now, though, the offerings are limited (Spanish is the only language offered at my college right now - though there are German and French 'classes' for no credit), and where I am headed, I can't really make it my focus.

I was hoping anyone might be able to let me know if there is such a thing as a program that will help pay expenses for traveling and living in a foreign country for the purpose of studying a foreign language and culture? ie, say I wanted to live somewhere in Germany to study German. Where could I look into something like this?

  1. There are scholarships.

    and then there's  the military.

But you need to be in a better University for your needs!  If you are interested in studying languages, why would you go to a school that teaches ONLY Spanish?  You need to transfer to a school that fits your needs better, and then take a year in Germany.  That's all you need to do.
