Is there such a thing as a "bridge" for usb and ethernet cables that has female ports on both sides?

I am trying to link an external hard drive with a firewire port to a router with an ethernet port. I dont think they make a firewire/ethernet cable - so thinking of "daisy chaining" through a bridge (if it exists). the connection would run like this: [back up drive]<=(firewire) to USB=>[bridge w/female ports]<=(ethernet cable)=>[router]. Is this possible? Suggestions if it is not? Thanks

  1. No,

Just plug it into your PC and enable File sharing on that drive.

As long as your PC is on others can access the external drive.

  2. Not sure if you could implement these things into what you want; there are a couple links that have  products that range from 19.99- 23.00; usb to Cat 5 adapters
