  1. There is a survival blanket sometimes called a solar blanket. Basically a Mylar coated with a reflective film. In the sun, it reflects heat to keep you cool. In cold weather, it reflects your body heat to keep you warm.

  2. uhmmmm.

I'm not sure what you want here:

You want a BLANKET thats powered by the SUN?!

I guess you could just buy an electric blanket, and a solar panel lol.

Or keep some kind of battery that the blanket can plug into.

Cause you wanna use this for camping right?

  3. The only solar powered blankets are made for swimming pools to keep the water warm

  4. a space blanket however these are only to re warm body temp they look like a big sheet of foil

  5. lol keep on dreaming

  6. im sure there is. but they are probably expensive.

  7. It would take tens of thousands of dollars worth of solar cells to power an electric blanket. You would need a bank of batteries to charge with your solar cells to have enough energy to make heat. They would also cost thousands of dollars. If you have the money you can have your solar powered blanket.

  8. chk ebay..

  9. I've never heard of one, but that doesn't mean much. Why don't you invent and patent it?

  10. I see what you're getting at, but anything today that converts solar energy into electricity, then back into heat, is not cost-effective today.

But if you live in a cool climate with a lot of sun, the following might work for you.  Go to the drugstore and buy a bunch of "hot/cold" packs - the kind that's used for warming injuries.  (Normally, you put these in your freezer for cold, or boil them for heat.)  During the day, put them in a place that gets hot, such as in a black plastic garbage bag under the rear window of a car parked outside.  If you have a box with a glass cover, even better.  When the day starts to cool, take the packs and put them in an ice chest to keep the heat in.  When you sleep, pack as many of them as you need into your bed, between your normal blanket and sheet.

  11. Why would you want to use a blanket when you are laying out in the sun?  An electric blanket can be powered by solar cells, but you would need a transformer and storage if you wish to use it at night.

  12. The best solution is to try solar hot water bottles, sold in camping shops I understand.

  13. Try www.spheralsolar.com as they stock many Solar items for the Home! Good Luck!

  14. Yes, they sell them in surplus stores. It is a survival item.

  15. if its solar powered it needs the sun u cant ave that in ur house at night when u sleep? i doubt there is one its a stupid idea

  16. I dont think you can get them.

  17. Google.com

  18. Not sure their is such as yet but  remember someone with a new idea is always "a crackpot"until the idea starts working. This is food  for thought.

  19. that is a weird idea.....most peoples blankets never see the sun unless they have no home.....

  20. Yea, my grandma has on. You plug it in, and it starts heating up. When your desired temperature is ready, you unplug it and its warm for like eight hours. The only place I would think to buy them is ate Bed Bath And Beyond.
