Is there such a thing as destiny? ?

If so, does that mean that we are all living in this world in a programmed manner by a higher entity/God so that we get from point A (birth) to point B (death in any manner) in a way that we ourselves do not know but if we look from a bird's eye view, we are actually going along a certain plan regardless if there is only one route from point A to point B or,

if there are other alternative routes that just fork out when we reach an end so that we are considered given free will (since free will has religious, ethical, and scientific implications) and thus have the option to believe that we actually have the possibility to choose our own destiny?

But in actual fact, we are just moving along the different pathways but ultimately end up at point B differently?

In that sense, it doesn't matter what you do with your life, yes, you get to choose how you want to live your life, but at the end of the day, everything has been set for you is just that you do not know what's the outcome but the outcome was already there. Any insights?

  1. A good world view perspective and all the more reason for extracting as much joy, peace and pleasure from each such moment. on other days and at differing times in a varying mood you will see life as time held in infinity, in that the world turns and life goes on, yet this precious moment occurring in your life is, and was before and will occur again, mans quest for release from his mortal being into the eternal and infinite realm of immortality ...

Some days the mind becomes restless and we feel as if life is passing by at a phenomenal speed and we seem at a standstill, isolated, it is a transient moment that comes to all and passes without memory or incidence if unacted upon.

  2. I think WT deserves BA.

  3. Destiny just means the end result- but not an already written script . Any event should have an end result .We call it Destiny to satisfy our mind .

  4. ...yes, each individual walks their own path good, bad or otherwise...

...how they get there are the choices made in life by each individual...

    ...good luck...

  5. Buddhist scriptures acknowledge the existence of preconditioned destiny, but not with a fatalist view. Our destiny is not absolutely determined forever. Rather, any destiny remains flexible. How? Buddhism teaches us that our hearts and deeds have the power to mold our destiny. Kind hearts and deeds will shape a more favorable destiny for us. On the other hand, unkind ones will lead to an even bleaker future.

"There is nothing more virtuous than an awareness of one's own faults and the ability to correct them."

We cannot simply rely on luck or denial to evade catastrophes. By helping each other, we will have the best chance of helping ourselves to thrive and prosper. Only through concerted efforts toward the same goal will we be in the best position to prevent all natural and human-made misfortunes. After all, cooperative efforts and mutual support is where the ultimate hope lies for all sentient beings.
