  1. a hole is a hole... not half...

  2. No. A Hole is a cavity, not defined by size or shape.

  3. I love questions from philosophy like this one.  There are a lot of questions like this that don't have a clear meaning, such as, "Can you clap with one hand?", or "How much does green weigh?"   The fun is finding a way to make any sense out of them at all, so here's my offer for this one:  Yes, there is such a thing as half of a hole in the ground, since, for example, I could have, say, a cubic yard hole in the ground that is in the process of being filled up.  We have at the moment half a cubic yard of dirt in midair inside of the hole on its way to the bottom of the hole, so do we say it's a whole hole, or do we say it is not a whole because there's dirt falling into it, or can we quantitively say that it's a half a hole because it's in a state midway between a whole hole and no hole at all?   This is not very different from the kind of logic that's now used to measure fractal dimensions, see Wiki.

  4. No.

  5. No, there isn't.

  6. If you dig a hole then fill it halfway up, then it is half of the hole you had. So it is no longer the whole hole.
