  1. Depends on your definition of nothing. I think there's always something, whether it's of substance or not. Even at the beginning of the universe, when there was no earth, there was still a small, hot something which started it all.

  2. As in the 'Nothingness' in the movie; The Never Ending Story?

  3. Conceptually, yes.  Nothing is the absence of all things.

You  will have a hard time experiencing "nothingness"in the real world (physical world).

Consult your local Zen master to explore this subject more deeply.  You can understand the true nature of "nothingness" by meditating and learning the precepts of the Buddha.

  4. Absolutely not.

Nothingness is an ideal, not an actual thing.

Just the fact that 'there is' completely screws the theory that there is such thing as nothing.

  5. yeah, nothingness is not actually nothing but there is such thing that we call "Void"

  6. Yes.  See the Tao Te Ching.  'Nothing' is in the center of the cup, which makes it useful.

  7. for me, no.

I mean, space is NOT nothing, because there is SPACE.

    get it?

    nothing does not exist.

    there is ALWAYS something.

    and nothingness...what is it??

    darkness?

    then there will be darkness..

Oh. Thanks for asking this question. I wanted to ask this to know other people's opinions.

  8. The concept of "nothing" has been studied throughout history by philosophers and theologians; many have found that careful consideration of the notion can easily lead to the logical fallacy of reification. However, many of the existentialist and postmodern philosophers and writers would argue that "nothing" is actually the lack or absence of something, rather than of anything.

  9. when i looked 4 some money to go to the mall and there was none.

  10. is there such a thing as cold? no. it's just a lack of heat. same with "nothing" just an absence of something. but "something" is always ALWAYS there, so you could never have absolutely nothing. nothing is an abstract concept which doesn't exist in the real world, only in our heads.

  11. no theres always something...the essence of nothing is something- the thought of nothing is something...in other words, nothing is something! there is no lack of existence all together

  12. No.

Air is filled with tiny atoms

    not talking is silience

doing nothing is not doing anything

therses basically a name for everything, which means its something

  13. No i don't think so, because even a vuccum is something.

    Thanks for asking dear

  14. Nothing is where there is no thing, for where will everything be if there in not that nothing where everything can be?

  15. yes...but not on our planet..not in this life.

  16. the concept, but not the "thing" nothing is precisely the lack of existing. so it can't exist because if it did it would be something.

  17. ...YES, come to my house and i will show YOU a lot of nothing in my cupboards, refrigerator/freezer. garage. and my social life...
