Question:

Is there such a thing as transparent / see-through paper?

I'm wondering if there is such a thing as transparent paper? If so then it could replace the "plastic windows" on envelopes (thus more eco-friendly). The paper would have to be transparent enough for the address underneath to show, and also be fairly weather-resistant.

  1. Rice paper is used in Japan. Used in films where people are thrown through windows, so they don't get hurt. Tracing paper or geaseproof are semi transparent and I'm sure that derivatives ae used already in some envelopes

  2. Vellum paper would work.

  3. Theres nothing available at this time that is strong enough.

The m&s sandwiches, I wondered why they tasted that way.

  4. It's called onion skin paper. Good suggestion.

  5. Corn starch can be used. For example on sandwiches? They use that on some Marks and Spencers sandwiches!

  6. well yh although it would be very fragile, and not entirely transparent, and cut very very very thinly, there is such a thing.

  7. You should take that to Sir Alan and become his new apprentice or Eco Adviser.

  8. I wonder how much extra my bank would charge me for that!!!
