Can you actually tell it works or is it just a gimmick?

  1. If you suffer greatly from air-born lint, pollen, dead skin cells  or outright soap flakes-you will benefit from a room air purifier. 80% of all dust in a home is dead skin cells that fluff-off you and your guests! The other main suppliers are lint-(from poorly filtering washers and dryers) and soaps drying-up and falling away off ourselves and every where we apply them. Real dirty dust falls to the floor and the rest just floats around for our noses to collect. My "whole room air filter" works great magic, to keep my sinusus light and unabtrusive. You must attend to these dust collectors with great frequency. Filters that are fully washable and reusable are the best value. Hepa filter claims belong in the hospitals-and no where else! Hepa filters in vacuums are only good if they are efficient and totaly washable.

  2. My extent of knowldge on the subject is that most A/c units have a filter that can catch most dust that is pulled in it. However some can catch much smaller particles.

Inregards to ionic purifiers, I have a westinghouse fan that has an ionic purifier in it. I can tell very little differents in the air when its running and when its not.
