  1. only a season ticket as far as im aware, usually either a month or up to a year in advance. it can save you a lot of money especially if the fare goes up as youve alread y paid.

  2. Season ticket if you are using Peak time services (The longer the time the ticket is valid the more discount you get) or for Off peak, one of the discount cards might help if you qualify, Senior (over 60), Young Person (under 26 or in full time education), Family (if travelling with a child) or Disabelled (if you qualify). If your in the South Eastern region you also have the Network Card as well but not much good on shorter journeys unless its a bank holiday or weekend.  Some companies do a group discount for 3, 4 or over 10 persons travelling so may be worth your while finding some pals to travel with on the train and getting discount that way.

Best way is to enquire at your local ticket office and explain your journey and what offers are availiable, any good clerk will offer you assistance to reduce your costs.

    Good Luck

  3. Yes, its called a season ticket.

They will give you the details at the station.

  4. the service will not be discounted, but the price of your tickets will be if you invest in either weekly, monthly, 6 monthly or yearly travel or season tickets.

The longer the date on the ticket the cheaper your fare becomes i.e  a yearly season ticket works out per journey cheaper than if you buy weekly or daily, and as long as you have the initial money to pay for your season tickets this can be beneficial, remember though some season yearly tickets will run into the thousands for one.

A season ticket is seen as payment in advance that you will travel with that company, hence why the discount
