I went to a petshop recently and there was a cage with a card on it that said the species name (Which i cant remember) and then it said 'Giant odourless mouse', i think they were sleeping though cos i couldnt see them. When i typed it on google nothing came up, what could they have been? A big mouse or a small rat? I'm wondering cos i have 2 old mice and might be getting something else soon.

Not that this has any relation to the question but in the next cage they had sphynx (hairless) rats... strangest looking things ever!

  1. No its a RAT

  2. i have no idea....

  3. Were they African soft furred rats?  (Sometimes called Natal rats or multimamalate mice)  They aren't technically either rats nor mice, but are in between size wise.  They're cuter then anything else, but aren't the easiest to handle.  Since they are native to a desert climate, they do not seem to have as much urine, or it is just not as fragrant as mice.

I have 7 of them, all boys, and they definitely are adorable and don't stink.  However, they're not really cuddly, either.

  4. a chinchilla?
