Is there such thing as a killer queen?

I remember hearing about a queen that had a lot of husbands and she had them all killed and kept their hearts embalmed in small boxes that were kept in several pockets all over her dress.

I tried looking her up, but I don't know her name or what country she ruled.

If you know anything about her, or this subject, please add some input!

  1. Definitely not in Britain

  2. I think that you are talking about a mythical queen, don't know her name either but Britain had one,   Bloody Mary,  the older sister of Queen Elizabeth 1 - she wasn't named Bloody Mary for nothing,  killed lots of people who were not Catholics

    Cheers

  3. It is a rumour about  Marguerite de Valois Queen of Navarre and France - - "la reine Margot".    It was not hearts of husbands but supposedly hearts of lovers. But I doubt it is true.

There is also a lesser version that it was just one heart of one lover, that of the Duc de Guise.  Which still sounds creepy but I think they did preserve hearts back in the 1600s. So.....?

She doesn't mention it in her memoires, but that's not so surprising, whether true or not

There was a movie about her with Isabelle Adjani.   I don't recall it having the hearts in it though!
