  1. cactus

  2. Broomrape & Indian pipe or monotropa species 'the leaves are merely triangular scales.'  They live on decaying bodies of older plants, and monotopa uniflora has only one flower per plant, hence uni (1) flora.

  3. Indian Pipes have small white scale-like leaves, and "Naked Ladies" have large green strap-like leaves, just not when they're flowering.

  4. Algae. Single celled plants. - No leaves.

  5. Algae are NOT plants.  Algae lack true tissues and are grouped with protists.  They may have the same pigment composition, but are still not plants.

Most cacti do have leaves.  Some have very tiny leaves.  Some have ephemeral leaves that are larger, but fall off.  And, cactus spines are modified leaves.

However, as some people have pointed out, mosses do not have leaves.  Because they are non-vascular, their "leafy" parts are not actually leaves.

  6. cactus?

  8. Yes

Indian pipes, they are a parasitic plant that grows on the roots of other plants. They are all white and have no chlorophyll or leaves

  9. What the others said... except some green algae are indeed considered plants, with the same type of chloroplasts and chlorophyll as higher plants and sharing a single common ancestor.

Other examples include some epiphytic orchids (link below) and the amazing Rafflesia plant (link also below) which has the largest single flower of any plant but is parasitic on tropical vines. Except for the huge flower it consists only of filaments growing inside the stems of the host.

  10. A lot of parasitic plants have no leaves as they get all their nutrients from the host and therefore have no need for leaves as sites for photosynthesis

eg Dactyllanthus taylorii- New Zealand parasite on trees. Lives almost entire life underground except for when producing inflorescences

  11. Moss.

It also has not roots and gets its water completely through osmosis. (diffusion of water)

  12. Mosses, ferns
