Is there such thing as a premature death?

This phrase gets thrown like people know when a certain person was supposed to die but instead died prior to the actual event. I have my own conclusion to this but I just want to know the thoughts of other people.

  1. What is proposed to be the general experience of people, at least in the west is they will live through childhood, teenage years, young adult, middle age and old age. This is what we are though since we are small and it is how official bodies of the state and people respond to you, as if you are going to live all these different life stages. And to a certain extent this is generalisable, the majority of people in most western countries live through all of these life stages.

Premature death is when, for whatever reason people are killed off before they have lived through these life stages that most people get to.
