Is there such thing as a "just war"? What makes it so?

I suppose it comes down to if you believe in self defense. Are you going to just stand there as a thug takes your purse, or punches out your Mom? You can make the same arguments at the "nation" level.

I believe in self defense. I also believe in preventive action.

I think war against n**i Germany was a just war.

This is not to say all wars are just. Or that the US has gone to war when it should have. (Iraq, Dafaur, and many massacres in Africa come to mind).

W W I &W W II, the Civil War all come to mind as American conflicts that were just. Some would say that the war in South Africa to end ararthid was just. The winner makes it so. Or history.

a just war, haha if anyone knows the true answer to that question share it with the rest of humanity becuse money and oil is not the answer, sorry no answer just another question
