Is there such thing as a sure thing in gambling?

What games are almost a "sure thing?" I heard blackjack is one if you know the strategies.

Basically, I want to turn 50 or 100 bucks into about $6,000 to pay off my car. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. no

  2. If there were a sure thing in gambling, it wouldn't be gambling any more.

There is no game in which you are guaranteed, or even likely to turn $50 or $100 into $6,000.  The closest thing to a sure thing would be if you were a world class poker player, and you played poker to make the money.  But even then, with such a low starting stake, it would still take ages to do, and there is still a risk of going bust due to the variance.

Get a job and earn the money.  That's how you pay off your car.

  3. lol if it was that easy don't you think a lot more people would be turning $100 into $6000 on a regular basis?

I gamble for a living and even I wouldn't try to turn $100 into $6000. You just don't have enough start-up money to get past normal variance.

With respect to house games none of them are profitable in the long run. That includes blackjack. Anyone who told you it was a sure thing is an idiot or delusional.

You best bet would be poker where you can actually make money but you'd need a larger bankroll. $100 is just not enough. Maybe you could bonus w***e online. You could probably make $6000 doing that over 8-10 months but that is not fun and might be easier to just get a second job.

  4. Sure, there is!

even though this might come across negative ..... at one point your going to lose some money! No denying that. Now wither or not you win it back is up to you.

  5. Blackjack is not a "sure-thing".  Remember it takes money to make money.  In order to "win" $6,000.  You would need at least half of that to bet.

So, one of the best bets is the "come bet" on craps.  Put the $3,000 there and win the roll and leave.

You either win $6,000 or lose it all.

Three card is for losers.  At most it pays 40 to 1 with a three card straight.

I play blackjack with perfect strategy and have rarely walked out of a casino a winner.

The sure thing in gambling....is that the house wins.

It is all based on statistics.  Odds are against you. That is how Vegas was built.

    Your $100-50. amounts to nothing.

If you play, you will lose.

    So, buy yourself something nice.

At least you will show something for your hard earned money.

  6. In Russian Roulette someone is sure to get shot.

Unless you find a way to tilt the odds in your favor it's in the hands of fate.

  7. Hey Dave S.G. Seattle...I wanted to add you to my contact list but you are not allowing anyone to add you to their Contacts...you gave the best answer on here and I just wanted to read more of your answers...can you add me?

Hey Dave...I know you added me but I still can't add you :(

"Sorry, we cannot connect to Dave S.G. Seattle's Contacts at this time."

  8. Yes, there is a sure thing, in sports gambling.  It's called arbitrage, and it occurs when you can find two different sportbooks offering different payout rates that effectively cancel each other out and allow you to make a profit no matter who wins the game.  This is somewhat rare, although it's easier to find on the internet.  The problem is that the rate of return is VERY low.  Like less than 1%.  At that rate it would take you years to turn your $100 into the six grand you need, even if you managed to make an arbitrage bet every single day.  But it does exist.

  9. There is no "sure thing". The house always has the advantage. There are some games, like Blackjack, where you can reduce the house advantage, but you can not eliminate it. Do not think gambling as a get rich quick scheme. It's not.

  10. i heard playing 3 card poker in morning/early afternoon is the best odds b/c you verses the dealer only. not sure how to play, but that's what i've been told.
