  1. scientists are not always what they are cracked up to be...

  2. umm yea i guess thats possible!

  3. Yes, there is such a thing as a white horse- I know and have worked with several of them during my long career in the horse business. I'm not talking about albino horses either, though I have also known and worked with a mare who was a true albino. The American Albino horse is a color breed which has been bred specifically for its white color- though these horses have dark skin and hooves, and normal dark eyes which you see in other breeds. I have known several of them. There is also such a thing as a white Thoroughbred- in fact, there is at least one TB stallion out there who is pure white, and who is the offspring of a mare that has given birth to at least 2 other white foals.

I do not know where these "scientists" you are quoting have gotten their information from, but I know from my own experiences that it is not true. Wendy, the mare I worked with in college who was a true albino, was pure white and had pink skin and eyes- but there was nothing wrong with her. She certainly existed- and I would willingly challenge anyone who said she didn't, because I remember riding and taking lessons on her. There is also a registry and breed club for the American Albino breed, which has pictures of those horses.

So yes, there are white horses.

  4. I was taught that greys have a dark skin color and white hairs.  However, there ARE white horses with pink skin.  Thoroughbreds are not supposed to be able to be white... the white gene is supposed to be toxic to them.  However there have been a couple rare white thoroughbreds.  The second ever registered white thoroughbred was Clarence Stewart: http://www.barbaralivingston.com/gallery...

you can see that he has pink skin and he's completely white across his body.

  5. I have read that there aere no such things as white horses.  All white horses are actually considered grey, albeit a very pale grey, but grey nonetheless.

  6. No. There are no White Horses. It's just the luster that makes them look white.
