Question:

Is there such thing as an above ground pool with a shallow end and a deep end?

My family is looking into buying an above ground because normal ones are crrazzy expensive to install. But we're all wanted something close to a normal pool, because what we were thinking is we want to dig a hole, and then put the pool inside the hole, and then it would be like a normal pool and cost less, but the only thing is that, we're all really tall, so we don't want a pool with just one depth. Do they make like super deep, big (wide) above ground pools, and having a shallow end and a deep end would make it even better.

  1. All above ground pools with liners can be set up with a deep end (or deep center). You just need to dig out one end with a hole before you install the liner. Liners always have enough extra  area and stretch to allow for a moderately deep area.

  2. There is such a thing, my aunt had one installed about 10 years ago.  I don't think you can put an above ground pool in a hole in the ground, though.

  3. I don't know about rectangle pools but the oval type can be shallow at the edges and deep in the middle. I had an above ground that was 31/2 ft to 6ft

  4. Not that I've ever seen.

  5. Only thing I've seen is a "deck" pool where a relatively small depression must be dug for the "deep" end.

Neighbors had one & I think it was about 16' x 32'  & went from 9' to 4' in depth.

The sidewalls for the most part ,are above ground  & in my area qualify as "above ground" since they have an above ground type liner, can be knocked down & do not require a fence since the deck  is  4' + high has railings  & stairs can be gated.

Also ,may not get hit w/ taxes that can  apply  to "inground " pools.

    Best regards

  6. yes you can get what is called an onground pool that looks like an inground pool they can be up to 7 or 8 feet deep you can buy these at aloha pools and spas.  they are not as expensive as an inground and they are not for diving.  you can have like a 52 inch wall grecian(Oval) style  with one shallow end 31/2 feet up to 7 or 8 feet.  they run anywhere from 8000, to 13000 dollars.

  7. you can get wide, deep above ground pools, but there is no way to have a shallow end and a deep end without it being an inground pool.
