Question:

Is there such thing as an all in-clusive cruise?

We are planning on flying to Cancun and spending a week. Well we have to have a passport to fly, so i was considering a cruise. We were only spending $4000 and staying all inclusive. So i dont want to spend more than that, but we would have to fly to a Port being that a drive to the nearest would be 8 hours, and we dont want to have to 2 days to travel-one there and one back. Any suggestions. I know cruises seem to have all kinds of hidden fees. Any advice?

  1. You will need a passport for all cruises anyway.

Any cruise that starts in the US and will end in the US requires a passport and if it ends elsewhere, you will need a passport anyway.

    Cruises are great.

Port frees, alcoholic drinks and tips are extra.

Take to a great travel agent.

  2. 4000 for 2 peolpe is PLENTY. Take a 5 day cruise, bet you could find a 7 day cruise for 800 each. If you stay on one of the biggest boats or get a better room you are talking 900-1200 each.  But for a week you can get away with $2000 for 2 people. That dosnt include flights to the port, booze, gambling, or excursions. But if you dont need those things your golden. An All Inclusive to me is only after you been on a cruise.

  3. The cost of a cruise includes meals on board (except for specialty restaurants), non-alcoholic drinks like tea and juice, and most of the onboard activities.  Alcoholic drinks are very pricey and they usually include the gratuity automatically.  We like Royal Caribbean.  Check out their website:

    www.rccl.com

  4. You will need a passport to enter the US from Mexico whether you fly, cruise, or drive.  You will need a Visa to enter Mexico.  Cruises are all inclusive with regard to food, and your room amenities, but generally do not include tours, drinks and shopping on board.

  5. Well cruising isnt much of an option either since most cruise liners already requires you to give em a passport at the check in even for cruises within us. It will in fact be mandatory as of this summer (sometime). The basic rule is that if youre going abroad you is gonna to need a passport no matter how youre travelling. The rules is tightening up due to september 11.

As for fees the most cruises today tends to be rather none inclusive. What you get is a cabin, food and entertainment. Youll pay for things like tips, drinks, spas and so on.

BUT there are almost all inclusive cruises but they tends to be very expensive. And that means very.

But I cant still get what the big deal is. Any leagal residence of us shouldnt get no trouble getting a passport so whats all this "wanna cruise without passport" questions all about? Johan

  6. Yes, there are. Regent Seven Seas Cruises are all-inclusive. At least they are as all-inclusive as the Resorts that claim all-inclusive. Spa services are extra in both places. Shore excursions on RSSC are extra as well. soft drinks and alcohol are included.

That being said, RSSC is expensive. You won't get many of their cruises for $4000.

Most European river cruises include some shore excursions, and some include all beverages. However it will take longer to get there and back, and they generally aren't under $4000 either. And obviously you need a passport for those.

As for advice, get your passport. You'll need them for cruises too by June 1, 2009 (unless the State Department changes their minds yet again).
