Question:

Is there such thing as an electric inflator for road bikes?

I bought a small portable tire inflator for like cars, and bikes(http://www.blackanddecker.com/productguide/product-details.aspx?productid=15542&toolview=1#details), but the nozzles on my road bike tires are small, so the inflator hose can't attach itself to it. Can I get an accessory to attach to the nozzle of the inflator to use on my road bike, or will I have to get a special handpump for the bike?

  1. A presta valve adapter costs a buck and can be had at any bike shop, sports store and sometimes Wal Mart etc. Buy the metal one as the plastic doesn't work as well.

  2. Yes there is such a thing and it does exist.

  3. I just purchased a Bontrager portable electric pump.......it's great!  Presta or Schraeder valves too.

    Check out the link:

    http://bontrager.com/products/accessorie...

    Available wherever Bontrager is sold (Try your local Trek dealer)

  4. All you need is an electric pump with a presta valve adapter.

    I have this pump;

    But it didn't come with a presta adapter.  However, it's been a great pump.  It's expensive at $70.00 and it takes all day an night to fully charge the battery.  but once you charge it fully, you only need to charge once a month or so for a few hours.  I like the lighted analog display and it goes to 120p.s.i.

    I've also used it to top off all four car tires on a single charge.
