  1. I had a great labor and delivery! I was induced at 8am and had my first lil angel at 12:51pm that afternoon!

I am going to go ahead and say get the drugs!!! LOL That is definitely what made it so easy for me! I felt 4 contractions between the stadol which they gave me before they could give me my epideral and when they actually gave me my epidural! It wasnt that bad at all. The only thing that took awhile was the pushing and that was because of the drugs! I had to have them turn the epidural off so I could begin to feel the pushing! I pushed for 35 minutes but there was no pain in any of it even when they turned it off!

It is scary without a doubt. I am 8wks with my second and Im already getting a little freaked out about it and my first labor was a cake walk!! Its really a fear that you cannot ease until the moment arrives! Just try not to worry TOO much about it before it happens. When it begins the best thing is the remain as calm as possible and just let nature take it course!!! Oh yeah and get the DRUGS!! LOL

    Best of luck

  2. Don't worry too much about it. My labor and delivery went great. It did last long-13 hours-but overall it was just fine. I didn't have any complications. I didn't want an epidural at first, but I changed my mind when I was in pain. There's definitely a lot of pain but nothing you won't be able to get through. The epidural helped immensly.  Once you hold your baby in your arms, you'll completely forget about the pain and be very happy. Be strong. :)

  3. My labor lasted about 20 minutes, then I was rushed to the OR for an emergency c-section.  I call that a nice labor and delivery.  I say much better than having a vaginal birth...lol

  4. Not all labors are horrible....I think some woman just exaggerate to make it look better on themselves....and then sometimes they probably are telling the truth. My one friend just told me that she started having contractions at 4:30, she walked around the mall for awhile, then at 12:30 her water broke and she had her son two hours later. She told me it wasn't as bad as everyone says it is...and if she can do it..anyone can!! And she didn't get an epidural either. Just be positive about it and keep telling yourself you can get through it. Read as much as you can about the labor and how your body works throughout labor and it'll make you feel a lot better! The more you know the calmer you will be! Good Luck! I'm 32 weeks too!!

  5. Watch Ricki Lakes film..The Business of Being Born and try to see the film or trailer for Orgasmic Birth. These should help

  6. Eleven and a half years ago... I had my first daughter. I labored for 10 1/2 hours... and immediately proclaimed that it was honestly the most exciting thing that I had ever done. I said this same thing upon delivering my 2nd daughter 11 months ago. It is the most exciting thing that you will ever do. Your body is meant to do this. It isn't the most comfortable thing ever, however... But you will be able to handle it. I would do it many more times (laboring) if I could just skip the 9 months of pregnancy part!!!

Best of luck, mom and congratulations!!!

  7. My sister-in-law's water broke at 8pm the night before her baby was born.  She said her contractions were not bad until about an hour before the baby was born and she recovered quickly.  Her experience was not a negative one.  Don't listen to the horror stories.

  8. My labor with my son wasnt too bad. I got to use the hot tub, which wasnt all that hot! Im used to really hot water. They dont allow the tub to be any hotter than 99degrees. But i had the epidural, and only pushed for 30 minutes before he was born. It wasnt bad at all. My 1st wasnt all that bad either. I pushed for 3 1/2 hours before they used the vacuum on her.

Every bodys birthing experience is different. But if it was too terrible, people wouldnt be having more than 1 child!!

My contractions were actually the worst part of the whole ordeal. Its not bad at all, giving birth. If you know what you want going in to the delivery, then you will be alright!

    Good luck :)

  9. i had an absolute wonderful delivery!  honest.  i think i scared myself into thinking it would be horrid, maybe thats why it went so well!  i loved it actually.  you get waited on hand and foot.  the only part to worry about is when they check you and you havent yet gotten your epideral..if youre getting one.  other than that, its smooth sailing. i weighed 100lbs too and it was not hard to push the baby out.  everyone says you feel so much pressure, honestly, if you have the epideral, youll be ready to have another baby in hours. its great.  i felt the same way as you did though being my first.  i said i would do it again in a second.  good luck.  its sooo nice to have everyone take care of you!

  10. The best way to have a "nice" labor is to ask for and get pain medication if you need it.  I had an epidural with my last baby and it was a great experience.  If you decide to go that route, make sure you do not move at all when they give you the shot for it (it goes into your spine) otherwise it may not work or you may have other complications.  You won't feel pain but you will feel pressure so that you will know when you are having a contraction and ultimately when to push.  Good luck.  I hope all goes well.

  11. I think you need to better define what you mean by nice labor. I do not think mine was that bad. I was very calm through out, but others who I have told about, get freaked out by it.

I was induced at 11pm, with the full knowledge ahead of time that I may need a c-section as my hip bones are narrow. I labored with no medications until 7am. Then I was given an epidural, I napped for a bit, on and off, until 10 am. Finally at 11:00 they decided to go ahead with t he c-section as my daughter was not moving down. I had a quick c-section and by 11:15 had seen my daughter and was getting sewn up. At around noon she was in the room and all was well.

I think the most important thing is your attitude about it. I was determined to do the best I could towards a normal delivery, but wasn't upset when I couldn't do it.
