Employ a people to come to chat with the elder people at your home, stay with them or go out for a walk with them, just talk to them to make them won't feel bored (just a few hours per day) - Im wondering if there's such work in Perth.

If you've never heard about that, what do you think about that? and generally how's the payment should be per hour?

  1. yes there is that type of work in Perth. Silver Chain employs paid people to do that, and there are also free volunteers who do such work here also , unless someone advertises for a companion which is rare.

there is also a down side to this in the fact i have known people to be accused of taking advantage of the frail after they have passed on by relatives,in the case of gifts or money , so it is risky to put your self in that position

  2. There is such work, but I can imagine it would be a lot easier for you to get a job if you did a course in aged care.. they only take about 6 weeks and some you can even get for free!!! =)

There is work like this where you run errands for elderly people.. such as shopping etc! the pay is ok but do not expect to get rich!

Also, if the money wasnt important... you can volunteer at aged homes and recreation centres to socialise with them! =)
