  1. No it is not normal. There is no trap in the drainline for a toilet (the trap is built into the toilet). Seeing water in the pipe indicates blockage in the line. If you decide to snake it out, use an auger and not a 3/8" drain snake. Toilet drains are 3" or 4" and the small snake will not clear it.

  2. If you are saying that there was water that you could see in the pipe coming up through the floor then no this is not normal and either there is a blockage in the pipe or a problem with the septic draining.

Snake the line ASAP or have someone in to look at ASAP.  This will leak through the johnny ring and ruin a lot more if left.

  3. yes it meant to be there. it is the air seal that stops the smells from coming through from the pipe work

  4. No, it's not normal.  It sounds as if there is a blockage in the drain.  Have it snaked by a plumber or you can by a snake at a local hardware store for under $20.  Good luck.

  5. i think so

  6. If there is water in the soil pipe / drain after you have removed the WC pan then you have a blockage in the drain or the drain is broken and blocked along it run. It could also be that the manhole that the drain flows into is blocked.

First check the man hole, if it is clear send a drain rod up the pipe towards the house, use a drain rod with a s***w on the end, this is a twisted piece of mettle designed to grip and loosen material blocking the pipe.

    This will get messy!!!

    P.s reattach your wc first.

  7. No. This is not normal. You will need to call a plumber, a handy man, or a friend. Or you could rent a snake yourself, and DIY!  It is just a clog somewhere is the main line, possibly. I would start with finding the main drain clean out and opening that. It will be VERY unpleasant and possibly under some pressure. That is why it might be good for you to call someone. It is a dirty job.

  8. detail rising plz...did it come out of the top of the drain?  depending on how low the trap is and how it was installed...but i have never seen it unless there was a problem with the drain itself.....
