Question:

Is there swimming on Alaskan cruises?

I am going on an Alaskan cruise this August on Holland cruiseline. I would like to ask if I should bother bringing a bathing suit for the pool. If the ship has a retractable roof over the pool, is there a chance that it will be open for swimming? How about if there is no roof?

Thank you!

  1. It can get pretty warm in Alaska in August, but not hot. The ships have nice swimming pools that are usually heated, plus don't forget the hot tubs. So bring a swim suit. Besides it doesn't take up much room at all in your luggage.

  2. Bring the bathing suit.  Be prepared.

  3. You should go to the Holland America cruise line web site and select the ship that you will cruise on and look at its features.  More than likely there will be a covered pool area but the web site will  give specific information about the covered pool and where it is on the ship.
