Is there truly a way of pre setting dice, as in craps?

Is there a way, shown to scientifically work, of throwing dice in a way that increases probability of winning numbers. Any experiments done on those who are supposed to be able to control dice rolls with a particular method.

  1. I asked a Casino Security Supervisor this question and his answer was actually very telling:

"As soon as we discover a way that the dice can be controlled we will either pull the craps tables out of the casino, or force people to throw the dice out of little red plastic cups."

  2. First off, there is a big difference between setting the dice and making a controlled throw. "Setting the dice" is just the act of putting them in a specific arrangement. If you do this then just haphazardly throw them, it will do you no good.

Making a controlled throw is something different. You are not only setting the dice, but also throwing them in a very specific way increases the probability of certain numbers coming up, which can overcome the house edge with enough skill. I can tell you for sure that this is 100% possible. Anyone who tells you differently is either an idiot, or has the ignorant perspective that if they can't do it then nobody can.

There are plenty of shooters out there with mountains of data that prove they can create a significant edge, and most of them have the bank accounts to back it up. I know a guy who clears over $500k a year playing craps. Anyone who thinks that's a fluke is an idiot.

BTW, A good controlled throw will comply with all of the casino's rules about shooting, unless they change the rules in ways to specifically combat controlled shooters (which I have encountered). A good controlled throw will fly through the air in an arc. They will rotate slowly, in unison, and within a few inches of each other. They will come down on the table just behind the pass line, take one bounce into the back wall, then fall to the table, making only one or no rotations. And I can tell you that it does NOT matter that they have to hit the back wall. The dice can rotate once in ANY direction and still have predictable results.

There are plenty of resources on the web about controlled shooting if you look. And always remember, if anyone ever tells you it's impossible, I can guarantee you that not one of those people have a single shred of evidence that proves they are right. Hundreds of skilled throwers have many thousands, or even millions (if you add them all up) of throws that statistically prove they are right. I don't know about you, but I know who I believe.

  3. The short answer is yes, there is a way, but the way to throw it is not allowed in 'real' craps. Basically, real craps make you hit the back wall when you're throwing dice. That pretty much takes out any chances you had of setting the dice.

I've seen guys, though, throw the dice pretty high up and they've landed square, not a lot of bouncing. Casinos will let you do this once as long as the dice have gone at least half way down, but they won't let you do it again.

  4. As far as setting them on certain numbers or lobbing them a certain way, I seriously doubt they can have any influence on the final outcome.

However there is a way of cheating where as the shooter sets the dice to number he wants (let's say 12) then puts the dice on the table and sort of pinches them together. This causes them to slide down the table without tumbling and landing on the set number. It is cheating and not allowed by the casino. But the way it is pulled off is the shooter has a partner at the other end of the table. Just as the shooter is getting ready to throw, the partner will throw a handful of money on the table and call a bet. This will turn all the heads of the dealers and boxman (or so they hope) while the shooter manipulates the dice. They will only try this once. The casino will usually give the benefit of doubt the first time.

  5. No.
