So thanksgiving was like my third favorite holiday just because of the turkey but now I'm a vegetarian. Is there like a vegetarian turkey I can eat?

  1. Yes, there's several immitation "Turkey alternatives" that are made from grains/soy, and otherwise are vegetarian foods..

My favorite is harder to find.. it's made by "worthington" company and is called "Smoked turkey" DELICIOUS..  You pretty much have to find an Adventist Book Center (ABC) store to buy it, though...  It comes in a "log" that can be sliced (like lunch meat slices) and I like to put stuffing on the slice and roll it (like an enchilada) and put in a casserole dish and cover with gravy and bake..

But Tofurkey is easier to find.. Many health-food stores stock it.. especially in the Thanksgiving/Christmas season. It tastes fine, and comes in a carveable "mound" kind of like a ham or turkey shape..(But smaller)

  2. Tofurkey is popular but we usually make a dish with quorn tenders and vegetarian gravy.

  3. Tofurkey, seitan (wheat meat), tofu.... They have Boca turkey deli slices.

  4. You can try Tofurkey, but personally, I don't like it.  We normally just stuff a really big squash, like a turban squash, and use that as our centerpiece as well.

  5. no unless it has no meat

  6. Yes - Quorn do a number of 'turkey' products. They do a particularly nice one with cranberries and sage & onion stuffing. I'm not a veggie, but I eat it because it's high in protein and very low in fat and carbohydrate.

  7. tofurkey. :]

  8. tofurky is delicious!!! =D

  9. not an actual turky looking object, but similar alternitives to turkey

  10. try tofurkey it's fuax turkey so its suitable for vegetarians and it tastes just the same

  11. There's Tofurkey, which I personally do not care for, and there is also the UnTurkey Feast, which I have yet to try.

You can make your own tofu or seitan roasts with "stuffing" and a veritable feast of veggies.  Check out www.vegweb.com; they have a holiday section and some Thanksgiving recipes.

  12. lol....well here is a thought.....forget that it is meat and eat it...

  13. TOFU....... its actually nice im not a veggie head....... but i still like it

  14. Here is the link to tofurky: http://www.tofurky.com/products.htm you can get it at most health food stores... some fred meyers carry the slices and some safeways might as well....... the hickory smoked slices are the best!
