Yeah there are. Every year i surf there. If you go out far enough, the swells get pretty big. Theren are mostly spongers, but none of them go out where anyone surfs. You will have it totaly to yourself.

John, you guys really do need to spell better on these on line questions. That being said, SOMETIMES there are ride-able waves at Myrtle Beach. There was a two day long ESA contest there last weekend, so I'm sure no matter how small it was, folks were carving it up.

Myrtle Beach is a great town for bikers, golfers and shoppers, but 'it ain't surf city' As I said there was a contest there, and you can surf there. I was surfing in S. Carolina (some place else, that shall remain nameless)  one day last month with a guy who had been in Myrtle Beach the day before, and he had been surfing there. I would suggest that if you don't golf, ride a hog or collect chatskas, go a little north or a little bit south and you will probably find better surfing.

And are they big ENOUGH? Well I have ridden a long board on ankle high waves, so it all depends on how much you want to surf.
