Is there who fixes small electric items.?

I have two small motorized christmas tree decorations (elves with fishing poles). They need new motors. They have strong sentimental value. They were my daughters favorites and she died last year. There used to be someone with a little shop in every neighborhood. My mom used to call them a tinker.

Look in the yellow pages under 'Appliances, Small'. There are still shops out there.

If these are small hanging ornaments, you might have better luck finding someone who repairs toys, or does miniature models.  A hobby store might be able to put you in contact with someone.

Small motors can be bought at a variety of places, like Edmund Scientific, or Radio Shack, or, of course, ebay.
