  1. Here is a site for artic wind data.

    http://www.colorado.edu/Research/HARC/so...

    Surface Winds

These are the monthly average winds since 1961.

January February March April May June

July August September October November December

The following plots were created to identify high wind events. The plots include the peak wind speed, maximum sustained wind speed, and highest daily averaged wind speed recorded during the month.

January February March April May June

July August September October November December

Note that while average daily wind speeds are available from 1/61 - present, the time records of the other measures are incomplete. Peak winds are available from 5/76 - present and sustained winds from 1/65 - 12/79 and 12/83 - present.

  2. Wind Roses grow in warmer climates. Roses will not grow at the north pole.
