Question:

Is thermography printing bad for the environment?

I'm having some invitations printed and was looking into thermography as a less expensive alternative to engraving. But someone had recently told me that it's bad for the environment -- and cannot be legally done in California (Californian printers have to send such work out-of-state to be done). I can't find anything online to confirm this -- does anyone have any knowledge of this? Thanks!

  1. Yes, it's bad.  The paper has chemicals in it to alow the thermography to occur.  They won't kill you in the form theya re in at the end user level, but the manufacturing of it creates a lot of toxic chemicals.
