  1. Yes more than .... 1000 people ....in millions

  2. Number of people of Vietnamese origin in the U.S.

All figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau Report issued in June 2004

The Census Bureau defines ancestry as a person’s ethnic origin, racial heritage, descent, or "roots," which may reflect their place of birth, place of birth of parents or ancestors, and ethnic identities that have evolved within the United States.

The following table includes the number Vietnamese living in the United States. "Vietnamese" are defined as people who marked their ethnic origin as "Vietnamese" on the Census survey in 1990 and/or 2000.

    Total Number (1990) 535,825

    % of US Population (1990) 0.2

    Total Number (2000) 1,029,420

    % of US Population (2000) 0.4

    Change 1990-2000 493,595

    % Change 1990-2000 92.1

  3. Theres like a million and half Vietnamese that came to the US, to escape Communism in Vietnam, most of them were peasents and boat people. Vietnam is like the third largest asian american ethnic group, behind Chinese American and Filipino Americans.

  4. There are now 1.5 million people in the US who are of Vietnamese background. Even if  fully half of those folks were born here, there are still 750,000 who have moved from Vietnam to the US in the last 32 years.
