  3. No, the Phantom is a fictional character created by French author Gaston Leroux back in the early 1900s. Christine, Raoul and all the other characters in the story are also fiction. The only thing real in the story is the Paris Opera House itself. If you should ever get to Paris, you can visit the Opera House and see  some of the building that inspired the thrilling story.
