  1. since a bank cannot enter into a contract with anyone under age 18 then they would be dumb to do such a thing. You would not be obligated to repay what you took. You'd be steeling and they could sue your parents. you could even be charged with theft but your credit could not be affected.

  2. You should be able to obtain one of those reloadable Mastercards that you see in stores. You can place money on these and use them. The only downside is that they charge a monthly fee.

You could also look into the Visa gift cards, I don't think they charge money unless you keep them more than a year.

I actually disagree, as alot of teens like to go shopping, it's alot more dangerous to carry large amounts of cash.

  3. You dont need money at your age. Be a kid.

  4. Some banks have "children's accounts" that parents have to co-sign on, and control.   My kids 9 and 8 have a savings account that has an ATM (not that my kids have any access the ATM)  but when they do I can set the daily  spending limits.

It is a good way to learn responsibilty.

  5. A FEW DAYS AGO I GOT THE CHASE HIGH SCHOOL CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THOSE 13-17. IT IS LINKED TO A PARENTS ACCOUNT. MY PACKAGE COMES WITH A VISA CHECK CARD. THERE ARE NO SERVICE FEES. ALL THE RULES APPLY WITH THIS ACCOUNT EXCEPT IF YOU OVERDRAFT IT IS TAKEN FROM YOUR PARENTS. SO BE CAREFUL. IT CONVERTS TO A FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT WHEN YOU TURN 19.
