Because the media and religious folk are telling about all these horrible stories of the end of the world and stuff without elaborating what they're going on about! It's just causing needless stress and anxiety. First theres the LHC, my mom came crashing through the door saying we're all gonna die on Sept. 10 and I researched it and its really not that bad. And then theres all that stuff about the Mayan Calender and 2012. Anyone else stressed out because of other people stressing out needlessly about stress?! (If I made remotely any sense :P)

  1. The original revelations prophecy was about the roman emporer Nero falling. It was disproven very quickly

  2. Its upsetting in the sense of sad that so many morons fall for that nonsense claptrap.

    Beyond that, no.

History shows that almost every year had someone running around screaming that the world's about to end. Those predictions have a perfect record to date: 100% WRONG.

Its quite reasonable to conclude that present & future predictions will share that record.

  3. It used to bug me when I was younger.

I think people who promulgate such slush to young people ought to be gagged and bound and left in a dark basement for 2 weeks.

Quite frankly, if any of this stuff comes about while I'm still alive, I'll be relieved that I don't have to listen to the stupid doom-sayers anymore.

  4. It is just boring.

  5. similar has been said since people evolved so it's nothing new

  6. The older you get, the more you get used to it. At 15 the end is never near and at 50 it is just around the corner.

  7. No stress.  Just people freakin out looking for something to make their lives interesting.  I think it's a bit comical.  Why do we run after things like this?  Doesn't make any sense.

  8. I can't wait for the special Swimsuit issue of the Mayan calendar.

    Coming in Jan. 2013.

  9. No.

  10. And here you go spreading more stuff to stress about.

  11. No, what others think has no bearing on me.  I don't panic about those types of things.  On the off chance it is true, there is nothing I can do about it, so why get all worried?  Since it probably isn't true, why concern yourself over fantasy?

  12. Nope,  I have Jesus.  We do not know the day or time but we know the season when He will return.  He is going to return before the last gereration dies  from 1948. So it is a good time to be daved before He returns.

  13. Even when the end is near- what could we possibly do about it, anyway?

Just sit and enjoy what's left of the day. Seriously.

  14. All my life, Christians have been predicting eminent doom.  In fact, they've been predicting the end "any day now" for almost two thousand years.  Recall that Christ Himself promised His apostles that they would live to see God's kingdom on Earth.

I know you don't want to hear it, but the whole of religion is one enormous hoax.  Are you brave enough to trust what you know to be true and reject what you know to be false?  That's what we atheist scientists do every time we make a decision.  Basically, it's a matter of insuring you always use verifiable facts when making decisions.  The more accurate and reliable your facts, the better and more reliable your conclusions.  Pretending you know something when you actually don't will almost certainly cause you to reach a false conclusion.  I suspect "all that rubbish" is upsetting you because you can't really be sure of it's validity.  The best way to evaluate a conclusion is to insure that it is based entirely on actual factual evidence.  If not, you can be certain that the conclusion is an unreliable fiction, if not wholly false, and can be safely ignored.

  15. Yes.  we will not know.  Nostradamus said 3792

  16. What I really hate, it when they use at as excuse to ignore global warming! I really want to be around a little longer.

  17. Since it's rubbish, it just irritates me.

  18. "Jesus is coming, look busy" describes the full extent of the level of religiousity of most Christians in the US.

  19. In my opinion, the best thing to do is ignore it and carry on.

Worrying about stuff is what some people do best. However, worrying doesn't make a situation any better, only worse. To be calm enables us to form the best possible level of thought. If the world is to end, let it end. To ignore our own part in its ending is foolish, though. If we can prolong the time our species has here, then we should.

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. My old '70's databank watch's calendar ended in 1999, and I'm not dead. :)

Still, I guess some good could come of this. I suggest taking bets, and then when 2012 comes and goes, there'll be plenty of money to go towards alleviating poverty and global warming. Also, there'll be no need for a payout to anyone who wins the bet. lol

  20. Don't let it up set you just give your life to Christ and all will fall into place.

  21. It really doesn't affect intelligent people at all.

(Other than it gives us a good laugh!)

  22. Nah.....that stuff is funny as heck.

  23. "Upsetting" in an obnoxious, irritating kind of way, yes.

  24. It's one of the bible prophecies that everyone will be saying it's the end of the world (despite belief) and the bible says when everyone is saying that, it will be...it is.

  25. It's not stressing me out excerpt for the headaches I get when I'm stuck listening to idiocy

  26. Yes, they're stepping on my lines. Actually, I'm a retired doom and gloomer who figures that now that I think we may get away with this, it'll just figure that the world economy will crash and WWIII will begin. Ain't that the way these things go?

  27. I think it is foolish. If the world ends for some reason, there isn't a whole lot any of us can do about it. So why worry about something you cannot change. Just live your life to the fullest while you have it to live. Any one of us could die at any time. It is inevitable.

  28. there will be world war three before the end of the world.jesus will kill every christians because they tried to kill him but allah raised him to heaven.

  29. They have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years.

The Earth is still young. We have plenty of time left!

  30. Really, I agree with you.   We are to live each day as best we can- with God-

God says "each day has enough worries for itself, don't worry about tomorrow" Mat 6:34   Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.

The end will come when it will and we don't gain one minute of life by worrying about it.  Rather, we ruin the precious time we have by worrying.
