Question:

Is this 'official' Chicago Cubs jersey real or fake?

I want to buy a Ryne Sandberg throwback jersey. They are $199 at the reputable Cubs merchandise sites I know, like this one:

Now I see this guy selling a bunch of jerseys at his ebay store, Pro-Jerseys, and he has the same Sandberg jersey in all sizes for $129. How is this for real? Normally, I would say it must be a fake, except that he has 25,000 (!) positive feedback ratings. Are people that easy to dupe, or is he selling legit gear?

  1. It is a pretty weak picture..............I would say no.

  2. its fake. I always buy jerseys from official stores, go to mlb.com/shop that always have real stuff.

  3. Generally speaking, Ebay says that a very high percentage of the "authentic equipment" is fake.  The picture isn't that good and a high feedback does not guarantee that it is real. Personally, the picture is weak, and it only displays the back of the jersey.  You can ask for a COA with the item, but otherwise I would go to an official site for the real deal.

  4. There are many "official" jerseys.  It is obviously NOT a "game worn" jersey if that is what you are asking.  It is more than likely a jersey done to MLB specifications, so that it COULD HAVE been worn in a game.

  5. you have to ask if it comes with a letter or some proof of authenticity
