no.

do not waste your time with toys, you will not be happy with it. You will soon tire of finding nails and pull tabs.

Buy a quality metal detector and you will be glad you did not waste the money.

I happen to own a Minelab, but they are a bit expensive and hard to find.

Go visit a White's Electronics metal detector dealer, he will let you play with them and you can see the difference. He might have a good used one in stock as well as the Bounty Hunter so you can compare.

Hi,

   I'm guessing you live in NY by the name.  I'd google metal detector dealer new york and see where the closet dealer is to you.  Here are some good ones for a beginner, that will still be worth using as you get more into it.  Garretts 250, Tesoro Compadre, Fisher F2, White's Prism line.  Good luck
