Is this Japanese phone number correct: +81 90 x*x XXXX ? Or is there a missing digit ?

I noticed that most telephone numbers have 8 digits after the "90" part, but this number only has 7. Btw, this number is for Minato, Tokyo.

Thanks in advance!

  1. +81 90 x*x xxxx is wrong.

Any wire phone in Tokyo must be dialed +81  3 3xxx xxxx or +81 3 5xxx xxxx.

Cellphone has either +81 90 xxxx xxxx or +81 80 xxxx xxxx or +81 70 xxxx xxxx.

You must miss some of those numbers without doubt.

  2. It looks like it's a cell phone number. Alot of cell phone numbers start out with 090 followed by 8 digits.

Since your calling from overseas, the first "zero" would be dropped after the country code on 81.

So, I think you are missing a number. Unfortunately, I guess the only really way to find out is to give it a try and see what happens.

Also, since it's for a cell phone, it's kind of hard to pin the location down exactly. I don't think that number has anything to do with Minato, Tokyo per se. That just might be where the cell phone owner lives/works.

If this is for some kind of business then perhaps they have a website that you can check to confirm their phone number.
