Ok so...

-Last Wednesday (day 1) -my right eye started hurting and there was some redness on the top eyelid where it curves in to meet the nose

-Thursday(day 2) - i woke up and there was a complete swelling of about half of the top eyelid of my right eye where it curves in to the nose

*there was itching

* Inflammation and redness

*pain when i moved my eyelid

*NO pink/redness to the actual eyeball

-Friday (day 3) (today) - I woke up and the top eyelid of my right eye was swollen worse than the day before (in the same area as Thursday - not the whole eyelid) so i stayed home from school

*Itching

*Pain

*Inflammation and redness

* No redness to the actual eyeball

*No pus discharge

*Little eye mucus discharge

**I found it harder to open my eyes this morning so i put antibiotics (special for the eye) on it

as the day progressed the swelling seemed to go down but

not by too much (I can open and close my eyes with much more ease than this morning)

**small bump on the sideburns area on the right side of my face

-Ok so i looked this up on WebMD and they proposed that it was pinkeye (conjunctivitis)

-why im asking about is that there is no discharge of "crud" and no redness to the eyeball

Extra info: there was a cold recently in my family

Is there anything i can do to make it go away?

If not, is there a way to relieve some of the swelling and redness?

  1. ewww go to the dotor! that is def pink eye!

  2. Go to a Doctor & if it is Pinkeye - he will prrscribe an ointment to rub intto & on your eye to get relief & instigate healing.  Ask him, first, if he has any 'samples'  - sometiems they do.

  3. definitley

u had mucus and swollen eye lids

doctor asap take antibiotics its veryyy contagious

    =]

  4. Might be a stye caused by Staph.  Use hot, moist cloths for swelling and pain.  Clean twice a day with baby shampoo.  Continue the topical antibiotic after cleaning.   Wash your hands well before and after handling.  If you don't see continued improvement in one week, or if you see a worsening or additional symptoms, see your doctor.

  5. I don't think it's pinkeye if your eyeball isn't red.

You might just have an ingrown eyelash.

  6. It sounds as if you figured it out yourself.  The tea bag is a really good idea.  The tannin is soothing and helps draw out any infection.

Sometimes a stye requires antibiotics so if it isn't clearing up well in a day or so, you should see a doctor.  Sometimes a stye is a staph infection.
