I love Reggie's contribution in putting my boys on the map, but we have strong depth at the RB position now with 2 young studs waiting for a chance...I want Reggie to be the player he was in college but at a pro level...your thoughts? What do you predict for him this year?

  1. reggie needs to recieve

  2. I love how people have the MISCONCEPTION they should move him to WR. As much as he's not the ideal NFL RB he's even more so not the ideal NFL WR. Switching positions is definitely not the answer, you don't wouldn't have moved Michael Vick to RB because he could run the ball from the QB position is a whole different aspect of the game.

Anyways this certainly does seem to be his make or break year. The critque continues to pile up... overrated, bust, overpaid, WR seem to be terms all to often mention with him. This year seems to be the year because he's had time to adjust to the NFL and learn the playbook and he was hurt last year so he needs to stay healthy and play out the season.

Honestly you probably can't expect him to return to his college level. RIght now in the NFL he's just a different type of player with a different type of team behind him. He doesn't get the blocking he used to get in college which is a huge problem for him because he's most dangerous at that 2nd/3rd level of the defense where he makes a couple guys miss and it's a given touchdown. But now in NO he hardly gets to that 2nd/3rd level as often as he did in college.

Bush usually gets around 15-16 touches a game. So statistically if he has a good season which I'd expect from him this season he'll finish with around 700+ rushing 700+ receiving yards and probably another 7-8 rushing tds 4-5 receiving tds. That in itself would be an extremely productive season for a multiple purpose back like Reggie Bush. The problem is people set their expectations way too high for him. In college his junior year he had 1,600yds 16tds. But statistically it's basically impossible for Bush to gain over 1,000 yards with the numbers of carries he gets, no one can. He doesn't get the amount of carries and isn't on the right team to be a 1,000 rusher. Does that me he's a bust or a disappointment... I certainly hope not how is anyone suppose to achieve anything that's impossible?

  3. in my eyes, this is a make or break year for reggie.. in college he showed the ability to be able to take it to the house on any given play but he hasnt shown that in his nfl career.. last year his longest run was 22 yards, he used to have multiple runs of at least 20 yards in college.. a lof of what i see is mental and not physical mistakes for reggie.. he is strong and compact but he runs out of bounds too much and doesnt like contact which is one of the worst characteristics a running back can have.. it is almost as if he is scared to run the rock hard.. through his play his first 2 years, he has shown that the texans made the right pick in mario williams over him which is something that no one would have thought on draft day in 2006..

  4. I think that this is indeed the year that will tell if Bush is really who he was in college and his first year in the NFL.  Now of course we all know that RB's and players of all positions encounter injuries, but if he should be a sub average RB and he is healthy then I will begin to question whether he was indeed a super star or whether his career has been a bust so far.  His first year was incredible.  However ever since then he hasn't shown me anything new.  You are right when you say the depth at RB in New Orleans is very deep. They have weapons in the back field.  I believe that is one reason why Bush hasn't been effective because he is sharing the load.  He isn't the star on that team like other RB's are such as Peterson, Joseph Addai, Clinton Portis.  Since he is sharing the load he is getting reduced carries.  But even so, if he is truly a super star he will rise above the reduced carries and make plays.  I expect him to make some major contributions since he is now healthy..

  5. dont get ur hopes up? he will suck again

  6. It is his make or break year and i don't think he's going to make it. They need to move him to WR. He's just not an NFL RB.

  7. Reggie needs to learn how to block. You can't be a RB in the NFL that doesn't know how to block. This isn't college football where you can outrun everyone. It's different when the linebackers are as fast as you.
