  1. It takes months to grow a show coat like that. Months of daily brushing and care. It doesn't grow in over night. Same as human hair, it takes time.

Edit: "how long does it take?" How long would it take to grow your hair the same length? That's about how long it's going to take.

  2. it takes time a long time to grow any hair like that....

  3. yes and it is beautiful.

  4. its definitely not a shih tzu.

I think its a pomeranian, and their coats are naturally this way.

  5. i have a young shih tzu and she has a "teddy bear " cut. she gets v. mucky tho so we always cut hers. I dont  know how fast your dogs fur grows but mine grows quite  fast so maybe a few months ???

    try this ?

    good luck ! x

  6. Yes it is.

Do not cut the shih shu hair for 3/4months but you need to trim the hair in order to let it shape nicely!

  7. Just growing the coat to full coat doesn't make it show quality, it's how Shih Tzu are shown but there are many other factors that make a breed show quality.

My Shih Tzu is 6 months, just over, and has only had a small trim and is nowhere near full coat and has not blown his puppy coat. I'd guess at around a year for that length.

  8. Yes it is a Shih Tzu!!! And it's really cute. My friend has a Shih Tzu and her's looked like that within a year! Hope this helps!! :)

  9. yes it is a shih tzu and u just need to put a lot of time and effort into your dogs diet and grooming routine

  10. How long does it take?

Probably a good 6 months to a year of daily brushing, grooming, styling, ect..

  11. Yes it is and a very nice one.  As far as show quality, you need an experienced breeder/trainer/handler to look at him/her, i.e., teeth, feel out bone structure, tail, etc.

As far as the coat goes, brush, brush, brush!  Trim ends to shape as it grows out.
