  1. It is true at most McDonald's.

I'm a vegetarian and I never eat there.

    It's disgusting.

    To Tealamar...:

    A vegetarian doesn't eat meat.

A vegan doesn't eat any animal products.

    Get a clue.

  2. There is no lard in their milkshakes, that part is an urban legend. The base ingredients of McDonalds milkshakes are as follows: Milk, Sugar, Whey Powder, Glucose Syrup, Cream (40% Butterfat), Stabiliser (E412 Guar Gum, E407 Carrageenan (Standardised with sugars), Dextrose, E410 Locust Bean Gum. It's not very healthy and I don't think too many vegetarians would eat them and vegans certainly wouldn't because of the dairy products in them.

  3. no, my sister is a manager there, and said all they use is syrup and the pre hardened ice cream mix.

  4. Most vegetarians wouldn't drink a shake because it has milk products in it, anyways.

  5. 1) Why would a vegetarian patronize Mcdonalds-- the very symbol of beef consumption?

    2) Vegetarianism is the only reason you wouldn't want a "lard shake"? Really?

  6. why don't you check the McDonald's website

  7. Here are the US ingredients for a standard vanilla shake.  I haven't been there in so many years that I didn't know they call them "triple thick shakes."

    "Vanilla Triple Thick® Shake:

Vanilla Reduced Fat Ice Cream: Milk, sugar, cream, nonfat milk solids, corn syrup solids, mono- and diglycerides, guar gum, dextrose, sodium citrate, artificial vanilla flavor, sodium phosphate, carrageenan, disodium phosphate, cellulose gum, vitamin A palmitate. CONTAINS: MILK. Vanilla Syrup: Corn syrup, water, natural flavor (plant source), caramel color, citric acid, pectin, sodium benzoate (preservative), yellow 5, yellow 6. May contain small amounts of other shake flavors served at the restaurant, including egg ingredients when Egg Nog Shakes are available."

There's no lard or animal fat in this listing so it's just a myth.

If you didn't know already, their fries are not vegetarian (US) because they contain natural beef flavor.

There's no reason to go there.

  8. I am a psuedo vegetarian, b/c I still eat seafood, and I eat dairy too. But I don't eat mamal meat, or poultry, and I have boycotted McDonalds for the last 8 years, b/c I don't know about the milkshakes, but I do know that they lied to vegetarians when they claimed that their french fries were fried in 100% vegetable oil, and come to find out they were spraying lard on them at the manufacturing facility. So I just boycott them completely. I won't even buy a soda from there.

  9. Thanks 4 to ask this question , next time i will be careful before drink something in Mcdonald.
