  1. as far as I know, your body can only absorb so much vitamin C. When you read the nutr. info in an orange juice carton it says '100% vitamin C' or something. Those tablets say like '1000%' I think.  I think I read somewhere that your body just ignores the extra, so I would think those 'super Vitamin C' pills are just a marketing scam, no better than any cheapo vitamin C pill or even a glass of OJ.

  2. I don't think it would make any difference. Vitamin C will help your immune system regardless of how you take it. If you have slow wound healing, ask the doctor managing your care for advice too.

  3. At first place, the ideal way for boosting ur immunity is the balanced lifestyle which ensures healthy food and practicing exercises.

Vit C is good but it is much better for increasing immunity when taken regularly with vit A, E and the important element Selenium. This combination may be found in the form of organic yeast tablets, e.g.: Selenium-ACE * trade mark.

Excess vit C is excreted in urine by the kidneys, thus excessive intake of vit C, may cause kidney stones.

If u are on taking vit C tablets or capsules, you should not exceed the recommended daily dose.

the slow release vit C is better in larger doses as it keeps the vit C blood concentration somehow suitable and constant, thus decreasing the frequency of administration and decreases the risk of kidney stones formation.

regarding slow wound healing, eating foods reach in Zinc element also would help a lot. e.g.: watercress

    hope i helped

  4. It is definitely a megadose supplement, the RDA for Vitamin C is 60mg/day.  Vitamin C is typically pretty safe- but can cause diarrhea in large doses.  To prevent this, take no more than 500mg/day unless prescribed by a doctor or nutritionist.  Any excess Vit C is not absorbed and is excreted through the urine.
