for those of you who dont know....

russia has declared war on georgia (not the US State, a country) , a former part of the soviet union. georgia is one of the US's allies, and they have asked us to support them and send troops. However, the United States is almost broke, and we have practically depleted our rescources.we already have troops in iraq, and we cant afford to send troops to georgia.

the way i see it: russia knew that we were georgias allies, and they waited until we could not help georgia, but you know us americans, we always get our noses in other peoples business, so of course we will be going. btw Russia is one of the most powerful countries in the world and has Atomic Bombs (according to mi mom, idk if that is true) so basically, we are all screwed. what do you think?

please do not be mean. i am american, so dont take offense to what i said. and to the russians, i was just talking about the military.

  1. It is time to look again at some of the communist goals:

Capture one or both of the political parties in the US. (which party do you think they infiltrated?)

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.  (ACLU)

Infiltrate the press and gain control of key positions in radio, TV and motion pictures.  Gain controll of all student newspapers.

Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Use student riots too foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one world government, with its own independent armed forces.

Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office

  2. So you seem to have almost ALL of your facts messed up. The US is NOT almost broke...in debt, yes...but not almost broke...

We have NOT depleted all of our resources.

We CAN afford to send troops to Georgia, we just choose not to.

We look down on the act of aggression in Georgia, and if we sent troops into Georgia, we would be no better than the Russians.

Russia is NOT one of the most powerful countries in the world. Influential, big, yes. Powerful, sure they are substantial, but not that much.

I think your mom is a liberal crackpot...don't listen to her political theories and opinions.

I'm sure she's a great person, just not with politics.

  3. There is a lot more to it than that

The Russians are not all evil warmongers the way you have been told

Look into why - the Russians did what they did .....

Russian peace keepers were in the region - A region of "Georgia" that they were protecting - Yes thats right

The Russians were protecting people in one of the Provinces of Georgia

Russians were attacked and killed -

Russia sent in tanks that took on the army that attacked them and that army lost badly against the Russians

The US wants them to retreat

Russia is scared for the people who they were protecting should they leave Russia refuses to leave

Yes it might well be world war 3 but it is not nor is it ever as cut and dried as what you are making it out to be

  4. i`ve heard about that a lot lately too

  5. You haven't been around long have you? We lived under this threat from 1945 through 1991. This current act of aggression is nothing, will not extend to a wider conflict. Russia simply wants to demonstrate they are still a player and control the transcaucasion oil monopoly at the same time.

It is kind of difficult for the US to demonstrate beleivable moral outrage after the unilaterial Iraq fiasco. Eventually the human race will be the cause of their own extinction but Russia's Georgia adventure will not be the reason.

Russia's reemergence as a bully and aggressor was totally expected. They have a tradition of ruling most of Asia and favoring strongmen as leaders that will take the responsibility for empire building. Putin is KGB and the latest Stalin. Russia has followed the same pattern for the past 500 years, czarist, communist or democratic Russia, the pattern remains. New boss same as the old boss. The signifigant change in the past 2 decades is the emergence of China as a dominant regional force, thus Russia is likely to attempt to extend influence into Europe rather than Asia. Transcaucus has always been their first target, as it was Hitlers, for the same reason, oil.

  6. I don't believe that this is the start of World War 3.  I think a lot of people tend to jump to conclusions and speculate just to spark controversy.  Some people probably thought the Iraq War would be World War 3 but it obviously hasn't reached that scale and it's fairly unlikely it won't ever.

The reason why I don't think this military skirmish can amount to anything as large scale as a World War is because of the United States's ties with Russia.  I think the Cold War is too fresh in many people's minds to allow something like a World War occur.  I think that a lot of politicians know that sending in troops would be the wrong decision.  Unfortunately, for the citizens of Georgia, I think this crisis will be handled the same way that other international violence has been handled, e.g. Darfur, Burma, etc.  The US has too much to lose sending a full fledged force into Georgia and so it's more likely that we will sit back and play diplomacy.

  7. Keep a eye on Russia if they move in to another country then I will say yes this is WW 3 then ask your self who is on the big bad bear side.Who will be on the eagle side?
