  1. yeah it is. I wouldn't suggest getting it because one of my friends  had bought the same model and after about 9 months the picture started to get fuzzy. Try going on Best Buy.

  2. NO it is not

    From the spec:

    Native scan rates 1080i, 480p

Even though it can accept 1080i, it can't play 720p, which is the minimal requirement for HDTV.

I would call it an EDTV (Enhanced Digital TV).

  3. yes

  4. That is a CRT rear-projection set.  It is probably an obsolete product.  It does not appear on the Toshiba site.  While the set accepts HDTV input, I doubt that it will display a true HDTV picture.  You are much better off with a DLP, LCD projector (or flat panel).  These are the only tecnologies that provide full 1080x1920 or 720x1280  HDTV resolutions

  5. Yes, but as an older CRT type, it can't do 720p (at least natively), so you're stuck with 480p and 1080i. This isn't that big of a deal, as pretty much everything HD outputs 1080i, but stay away from CRT type HDTVs (unless you can get one super-cheap) because they just aren't as sharp or clear as LCD and Plasmas, and don't even think about using them as a computer display, either.

And you people saying that TVs that only support 1080i aren't HDTVs...you're d**n idiots and should shut the h**l up.

  6. To add in another viewpoint...

I agree that this is not a Hi-Def unit as it does not support 720p or 1080p.

If you're trying to find a Hi-Def TV, I'd suggest starting at websites of Best Buy or Circuit City.  They have an excellent of products.  They will, occasionally, have the best prices for some of the TV units.  I will normally purchase from a local store vs. buying on the internet when making a purchase of a product of this amount because you can always get in contact with a store or regional manager if you have a problem with the unit.

    Good Luck!!
