Is this a Mary Sue...?

This is a character from a very popular book. I was just wondering what people thought of her, 'cos she seemed like a Mary-Sue to me. I'll tell you who she is when I pick the best answer.

She's a short girl, with red hair (like the author) and brown eyes. She comes from a mainly male family and is often described as "beautiful" by others. She ends up marrying the protagonist, but attracted attention from other boys while at school.

She's a feisty, independent girl, known for having a "blazing look" in her eyes. She is talented at sport, as are her siblings. She rarely cries. She appeared very shy in her youth, but this began to change when she was fifteen. She's an animal lover, and very fond of cats and birds.

So, what do you think?

  1. Who on Earth is Mary Sue?

I'm not kidding, I'd really like to know what this means.

  2. I kind of gagged a little. Yup, it's a Mary Sue all right.

  3. is this ginny weasley?

  4. It's Ginny, right? I think you're right, she is a bit of a mary sue. The financial situation kinda matches too, J.K. grew up poor...right?

  5. Yeah she does seem like a Mary Sue.

  6. i think i know this book, is it EVERNIGHT. well if it is then yeah, if it isn't yeah from what you have said.

or is it Ginny Weasley! she is but i did like her.

  7. Yeah, she sounds like a Mary Sue to me.

    EDIT--

Hmm I thought maybe it was Ginny after reading "blazing look". Lol. From your description, she does sound like a Mary Sue. But I never got that impression while reading, like I did with Bella Swan in Twilight. Ginny may be a bit of a Mary Sue, but at least she has a decent personality and a backbone.

  8. Yup, Ginny Weasley is a complete Mary-Sue.

    ;)

Wonder how many people would've said "yes" if you'd named her.
